An intensive, hands-on seminar that assists you to reflect biblically and theologically for providing missional leadership that innovates adaptive change.
Participants
- Regional executives and staff (diocese, conference, synod, association, presbytery, etc)
- National church leaders - executives, unit directors, and program staff
Purpose
- Becoming Missional - Provide participants with a deeper understanding of what it means to be missional.
- Reflecting Biblically & Theologically - Assist participants in utilizing a missional perspective to engage in biblical and theological reflection on their regional church and its ministries.
- Action Plan - Lead you through a process that will develop an initial action plan customized for you and your region.
- Understanding Adaptive Change - Introduce participants to a theological understanding of complex organizational systems and adaptive change processes.
- Discerning Spirit’s Leading - Help participants discern the leading of the Spirit within their regional church body and identify key challenges and opportunities now present.
- Focusing Leadership Role - Utilize the historical development of denominations and regional church bodies to clarify and focus the role of leadership within these bodies.
- Peer Learning - Have participants consider the possibility of participating in a longer-term peer-group learning cohort that is consultant facilitated.
Leadership
The consultation will be led by The Missional Network's Craig Van Gelder and Alan Roxburgh.
The Missional Network's Executive Institute was a pivotal experience for strengthening my own understanding of missional leadership development. The ecumenical conversation among among judicatory leaders from differing geographical regions, the 360 analysis of my own leadership, and the use of images and metaphors for the development of the adaptive challenge facing my own presbytery, all helped me envision my ministry a new way. Most importantly, the learning from the Institute continues to inform my perspective. This was not just a one-time event, but it provides an on-going foundation for leading on the unknown path ahead.
